Celebrate Leif Ericson Day With Us!
PLEASE NOTE: We are celebrating Leif Ericson Day on Sunday, October 7th this year!
Each year, we select a featured Scandinavian country, and this year that honor belongs to Denmark. We are happy to announce that Ambassador Torben Getterman from the Danish Consulate General in New York, has been invited to attend. In addition, invited guests include the Mayor of Marcus Hook, the Honorary Consuls from all the Scandinavian countries, a U.S. Congressman, plus noteworthy speakers and representatives of the business world.
We hope that you will mark your calendars and plan to attend one or both of our festivities, and bring a friend, a relative or a neighbor. This cultural observance is open to all nationalities, as we celebrate the historical fact that "Leif Landed First". After another very successful event last year, we are very excited to continue with our new venue and location. Hope to see you there.
FREE Annual Ceremony in Marcus Hook
The first segment of our celebration begins at 11:00AM at Market Square Memorial Park in Marcus Hook, PA, as our replica Viking Ship "Norseman" and her crew land on the banks of the Delaware River. This enactment begins our day, as we proceed with the introduction of honored guests, as well as the reading of proclamations from the President of the United States, the Governor of Pennsylvania, and inspirational words from keynote speakers. At the conclusion of this ceremony, a wreath will be placed, in honor of the life and accomplishments of Leif Ericson.

Luncheon Banquet
Next, join us at 12:45PM at the annual Leif Ericson Day banquet. This year the luncheon banquet will be held at the Holiday Inn Select on Naaman's Road. with all the pomp and ceremony that befits this auspicious occasion. This is a great time to mingle with old friends, enjoy a good meal, listen to words from guest speakers, see our display of Viking artifacts, and hear news of our famous traveling Viking Ship "Norseman".
